PROTECTED FISH SPECIES SUBCOMMITTEE

The Protected Fish Species Subcommittee is a group with expertise in federal- and state-protected fish species across Atlantic ecosystems that share information about ongoing and planned research, identify key data gaps, and help maintain alignment and coordination among research and data collection teams.

The Subcommittee meets multiple times per year. All are welcome to participate. Subscribe to the RWSC newsletter to receive monthly reminders and calendar invitations. View the latest Protected Fish Species Subcommittee Meeting materials.

Contact the Protected Fish Species Subcommittee Coordinator, Jordan Katz.

The Protect Fish Species Subcommittee collaborates with the Sea Turtle Subcommittee, Responsible Offshore Science Alliance, and regional telemetry networks to coordinate acoustic telemetry receiver deployment and tag data collection offshore.

The research community and state, federal, and industry funders of acoustic telemetry in U.S. Atlantic waters have the common goal of detecting and characterizing shifts in species presence and movement as offshore wind projects are constructed and operate throughout the region.
